Colectivo Oruga

Freddy Uday &
Gonzalo Arias

弗雷迪·乌代 &
冈萨洛·阿里亚斯

Originally from Cuenca, Ecuador, Freddy and Gonzalo have been working in jewelry-making for over twenty-one years. Employing techniques such as wax modeling, lost-wax casting, forging, and sheet and wire assembly, their works have earned numerous awards, including the CIDAP Medal for Craft Excellence and the Seal of Excellence from the World Crafts Council Latin America. Their mastery of silversmithing in silver, gold, and copper is remarkable; combined with materials like fibers, wood, ceramics, and enamels, they create unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that represent the diversity of Ecuadorian culture.

Oruga focuses on merging design and craftsmanship in a contemporary approach, where innovation and breaking paradigms become a professional philosophy of life. This collective views jewelry from a distinct perspective, where each piece’s function is emphatically complemented by the story behind it and the emotion it will transmit to its wearer.
