Laia Pla
Laia Pla (Badalona, 1973) is a sculptor trained at the Pau Gargallo School of Art and in Fashion Design at the Llotja School in Barcelona. Her work, centered on the human figure, explores emotional expression and the construction of a sensitive yet powerful femininity.
She works with materials such as resin, textiles, leather, and cement, creating pieces with strong poetic and tactile presence. She has exhibited in various cities across Europe and Spain, and one of her sculptures is part of the permanent collection at the MEAM (European Museum of Modern Art). Her piece Coralina was a finalist in the 2023 Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize.
