Marie Barthès
Marie Barthès is a sculptor who studied at the National Superior School of Applied Arts and Crafts in Paris and worked with French designer Serge Mouille, renowned for his lighting designs. She began her career in film and advertising before gradually developing her own artistic universe and presenting her first collection in 2009. Her craftsmanship and artistic sensibility led to a collaboration with Tassin Leather, a French Living Heritage company, with whom she created the exceptional setting for Guerlain’s fragrance bottle La Petite Robe Noire.
Her work is inspired by reality, contemplation, and observation. Through rhythms, order and disorder, particles and cells, she creates unique sculpted leather mirror pieces, each composition being singular and unusual. A member of Les Ateliers d’Art de France since 2009, she presents her collections at design and professional fairs such as Maison & Objet and Révélations (Grand Palais, Paris). She leaves it to each viewer to choose between art and use, inviting them to discover the stories embedded in her objects.
