Rita Soto
Rita Soto is a jewelry artist and industrial designer who learned the craft of jewelry-making from her father, a master jeweler. In 2012, she founded LAJOIA Jewelry School, and she has served as president of JOYABRAVA, the Association of Contemporary Chilean Jewelers.
Her practice explores materials and techniques through the integration of design, craft, and art. Drawing on manual processes and traditional knowledge—such as micro basketry in horsehair learned from local women artisans—she creates works that question the boundaries between object, body, and territory. Her work has been exhibited internationally across America, Europe, and Asia.
