Sylvie Guyomard

Sylvie Guyomard, born in 1964 in Montmorency, is a visual artist, painter, and sculptor living and working in Saint-Raphaël (Var). She holds a degree in painting and mural art from the Beaux-Arts Academy of Paris and works with a variety of materials, guided by nature and a constant attention to light.

She draws inspiration from the earth, plate tectonics, and rifts, creating compositions that can evoke power, energy, softness, or serenity. Her work has evolved from marble mosaics and slate pieces to metal, where she recovers oxidised sheets, old barrels, and historical vehicles. She explores the transformation of metal through rust, arranging materials according to the emotions they trigger. In her series combining metal sheets and mother-of-pearl, she examines material decay and resistance, creating abstract landscapes that engage the viewer’s imagination.
