Women artisans of the Canelo Kichwa community

卡内罗基奇瓦社区的
女性工匠

The Canelo Kichwa communities inhabit the areas around the Bobonaza, Conambo, Curaray, and Villano rivers, located south and east of the city of Puyo in Ecuador's Amazon region. Their artisanal traditions are rich with knowledge, imagery, myths, and dreamlike representations of nature, cosmology, fauna, and medicinal plants—in essence, everything encompassing the living universe that surrounds and nourishes them. They see nature as a being that engages in dialogue with their communities, whose rights must be protected through daily practices in life and art.
